TORTRIX MOTH

This is a large group of moths all of which emanate from rather similar caterpillars. These caterpillars have a habit of binding two leaves together with silk webbing, or they may curl over a leaf margin in a similar manner. This enables them to feed hidden from view. Their meal usually consists of the inner leaf surfaces which are grazed away. This results In the remaining damaged tissues drying up and becoming brown.

Control:
Spray the foliage thoroughly with insecticide such as ICI Picket, Boots Caterpillar/white fly killer, or Murphy systemic action insecticide
